Long ago, in a time way before Lloyd and Colette stopped Yggdrasil from destroying the Tree of Martel, and before the Great Kharlan War, another tragedy occurred. A time where millions of innocent people were killed off. An entire race was completely wiped out from history, and Dwarfs were the next to be killed off. By this time, a researcher tried to create an ultimate Being. One who could stop the genocidal attackers who were so ruthlessly killing.
Once the being was complete, it came and killed off enough people to make them give up. Although it was far too late for the lost race, the world of Tethe'alla was back into peace, and the Being was put to rest. Records were not kept of this being outside the walls of the research facility, and only legends strive on to keep the historic mark.
Now, centuries after the event, a man wanted to recreate that being. Taking a small child, he fused her with brain and gene fragments of the rested Being. This was a failure, as the baby girl was just a normal child. However, once she became of age Eighteen, her strange abilities begin to unfold. Along with her strength, however, her mind was still stuck in the time of the genocidal acts, and can no longer comprehend that the acts of then is now over.
The unstoppable "Maiden" as townsfolk call her, has destroyed town after town, trying to stop all bad in the worlds of Tethe'alla and Sylvarant. As things grew worse and worse, heroes from all other worlds have come to these two worlds in order to try and bring down this Maiden. Two girls, Arche and Bella founded the group of heroes trying to find this woman and cease her acts. And even though there are those who wish to stop her acts, there are also those who wish to support her actions, the ones called the "Duplicitous Deities".
What the Crusaders were not planning on, was befriending the alter ego of the Maiden. Joining the group to learn their weaknesses, the girl instead found a place to belong and people who cared about her. This made being against them that much harder. After time passed, most of the group found out the girl's dark secret and had to make a choice. A choice on whether they slay the friend they made in an attempt to rid the worlds of the Maiden's torments, or to find another way that left the girl and Maiden separate. With ease, the group made a decision to try and make the Maiden and girl their own people. Through pain, through fighting, through heartbreak, the team finally had to strike down the girl, as it was her wish. She knew the Maiden was about to completely take over, and she wanted them all to be safe. Though after being struck, The Maiden found away to extract herself from the body of the girl. Reducing the damage by half, the girl was able to live through the attack just barely, but enough to be healed and keep on living. Now being herself, the girl was able to live life with her friends . . . until the withdrawal of the missing half of her began; which sent the girl home.
Just as the girl began to heal, a certain number of strange occurrences sprung up. News on a strange woman who had been seen around towns where slayings have been taking place. Not until there was a major story about a building being set aflame by a woman who looked like "The Blue Eyed Maiden" did the Crisis Crusaders get interested. The team has decided to band together to stop this reoccurring killer, and save the world and worlds around. Of course, where good forms, there is always the bad. The Deities have come back as well, ready to support their Maiden.
