The necromancer eyed the steps of the staircase that now stood before him. Why did he suddenly find it so difficult to make the next following steps? He had been at ease, he had kept a fast, confident pace, until he froze at these steps. It was not a physical problem that delayed his walk, it was however an emotional distress that had caused him to react in this manner. It was like this whenever he saw any research facility; each and every time he saw one, or thought of the possibility of returning to a facility to pursue his career as a researcher that the ghosts of his past kept showed themselves to him. He imagined that soft, snow white hand, bloodied by his own hands...His own hands bloodied by the death of a woman that showed nothing but kindness to him...He shut his eyes quickly. He deliberately changed his mindset. Yhis was not a career choice, he must remind himself, it is a little business trip. And that is all it ever will be in his mind. He must walk in, retrieve papers, and leave; that was his plan in mind. With that conclusion he continued up the stairs, half-heartedly ignoring the thoughts of Nebilim, Dist, and his past demons that poked violently at his thoughts. The memories of Nebilim urged him that he should not even be in this building; after all, it was his stupidity that caused her death. It was also his curiosity of life and death that had created the monster replica of her that haunted him to this day. Any research here was a sin, research, in it's entirety was a sin...No... There were good scientists, he was just one of the dark ones; he effectively slammed those thoughts shut from his conscience. With his carefully constructed facade of a cheerful personality, he greeted the lady at the desk with a grin and stated his business.

"Papers?" The girl behind the counter bowed respectfully, her demeanor that of one who was relatively alert and awake. She was a young thing, no older than sixteen. The man in question appeared to be fairly mature, and something of a strict man. She gathered that just from appearances though, as she was probably wrong. After all, you can't judge a book by it's cover.
"I, er... I haven't heard anything about any classified papers. Sorry, sir. Would you like help looking for them?"
From behind the counter, in a typical Aspio scholar's outfit, she took a step down from the slightly elevated counter area and bowed again. Her hair and eyes were a matching black, with her bangs almost styled to have cat-ear-like patterns to them, and a collar bound with a metal clip. It wasn't a fashion statement, though, it was to conceal something.

It was always useful to take a moment to analyze a person's personality, because such instincts could always prove useful later. From what he could sense, the girl before him was kind; and from his perspective, she had the eyes of someone who was experienced, someone that knew what they were doing. It was a respectable trait.
He nodded with a wide grin typical of him, " That would be great," he replied. His body feeling tense as his eyes turned toward what appeared to be a library of books and documents; some of which may have been written by he himself. He wished very badly that he could take all of his documents on fomicry and cloning, and burn them so that no one would ever attempt it again. ' I truly hate this place...',he thought to himself. His muscles were tense, and it was obvious as day. It would be obvious to the girl that he was undergoing distress of some sort, for what reason she did not know.

Her gaze averted the man before her, as she was rather shy around new people. It wasn't that she was bothered by new faces, just that she never knew what to say. That's generally why she kept to herself in her studies. The medical research center for Aspio was to the right of them, and on that block was her house, where she left her bow and arrows for the day. No need for them, right?
"What exactly is it that I should have my eye out for?" She asked, turning to the man. He seemed rather tense, to which she gave herself a moment to note and then say nothing about. It wasn't her place to ask such things. Unless, maybe, he was tense because he had never been here?
"Sir, please don't worry. I'll guide you to what you need, so you don't have to worry about staying too long. I know some people get uncomfortable when they come here because of all that goes on."

Was it because she was shy, or that she was afraid of giving away her thoughts that she could not look him in the eyes? He began to wonder if coming here for the papers was a mistake, because he very well could have fallen into some sort of trap. " You know very well what I am looking for, it would be an inconvenience for both of us for you to ask me to announce the title of the document in front of this crowd" he was giving her a hint, without directly stating it. It was very possible that people were after him... And if she were to admit that she knew where said document was, she'd be caught up in the issue as well. If she did not understand before, she would now... If she were a scholar worth her title, she would know who he was; after all, many of the studies that scholars studied were created by him. His eyes narrowed somewhat, " I'm not nervous because I am a newcomer, " he said, " I'm tense because I'm too well known. " His jaw tightened. " If you don't mind I'd like to get the document, so I may leave. " He explained, and then thought ' And so that you will not be caught up in my troubles as well...'

"Hey! Would you mind letting me go?!" Miyun bursted out at the man who was dragging her along. She really, really hated it when people judged her because she was different. It was exactly what they did to her mother and father. And now her? Hell, when was this discrimination going to stop? She appears in another world, and already she has trouble. The man didn't give an answer. He just continued on through the city. "Honestly! You know, I could report you for this!" No answer. Again. She closed her crimson eyes tightly to try and tone down her anger, before they slipped open again. Without any anger, or any real emotion for that matter, she muttered a single word, "Judgement." Light rained down in large rays above the man, and she smiled in victory as she watched him collapse, and quickly ran off. Honestly, she was against hurting people, but if anyone was to mess with her freedom, they'd be hurt. She wasn't just going to be their lab rat. And if they did just a few tests on her, that was what would happen. Not only was she an Angel, but she was a scion too. She had a relation to the Summon spirit, Undine. She ran to the edge of town, and breathed heavily from the rushing. She couldn't just use her wings here. The people around would freak. They were scholars after all, researchers. But where was she to go now? She knew none of this area, she wasn't from this world. So she may just run into a bad situation all over again. Just her luck, it seemed. She continued taking her leave, only to collapse outside of the city. It wasn't from the running, oh no, it was from all the struggling she'd done before.

Perhaps, there was some kind of deep secret she did not know. However, she had only been in this world for four years now, so she didn't know this man, or of his reputation. She was, as bluntly as one could put it, clueless about everyone famous. She was only here to look for a cure. Nothing more, nothing less, and it just so happened that whoever this was, if he was as famous as he says, was also trying to do something.
"I'm sorry, sir. I've never heard of you. I have, er..." No, she couldn't say 'been in this world'. She knew not that all worlds were connected now. Her own was so different, it couldn't possibly be.
"I've only just begun my research." An obvious lie, as anyone could tell from her eyes that she was smarter than that. She wasn't lying when she said she didn't know him. She was lying of her current ability.
It was then that she heard a loud boom, and saw bright light in the distance.
"W-what is... Sir, was it my imagination or was that a spell just now?"

Jade smiled reassuringly, " That's alright... My name is Jade Curtiss... I was a researcher in fomicry, more specifically I researched Replication, " When he said the word replication, the light in his eyes were gone and for a moment his eyes were dark and saddened. He was actually GLAD that he was not known by this woman; if he wasn't known well by others that would please him. He truly believed that what he researched should never be repeated. Unfortunately their little meeting was cut short. After hearing that blast, he was slightly more tense but he did not seem to be afraid like everyone else; he was used to the sounds of war, he was a colonel after all... He got urgent, " Could you get me the papers? I know that you've been told to hide the papers, but I am well aware that they exist. If you do not do what I say, I will find them by other means. " Translation: I will hurt you. As it is known, Jade means business, and he can get scary.

"Replication..." She repeated those words herself, and thought back to her own dark side. Replication was... Not pleasant. She wasn't one, but she knew one. And that one, he was... Just, terrible. She could be considered a replica, if one really gave it thought. Zephyrus replicated the Skade virus into her at one point. She was a replica of Skade to that degree, but not an actual replica. But, she backfired. So, he returned her humanity, and gave her the power of a Sister. Something that was replicating his own power.
"I understand." Her expression became more serious; hearing him talk of replication made her understand more clearly what was going on.
"But, sir, I must tell you now. I was never informed of these papers. I am just a medical student. I do know where the top secret files are, though. Please, wait somewhere I will find you. Perhaps at the gate?"
Well, that was certainly a personality change. She didn't like to discuss replication, or experimenting. It was the reason she was here in the first place.

"Alright, I will meet you at the gate, " he seemed to trust her. That look in her eyes that said that she understood confirmed that she could be trusted. He smiled somewhat, " Thank you, while I wait for you I will go find the source of that explosion." With that he turned and left. What he found when he walked toward the edge of the town? A large crater-like depression in the ground caused by magic. And... A corpse? He checked the man's pulse. No...He was definitely alive. When he turned he saw a woman's figure walking away, and on her back were wings. Could she be what they spoke of in those books..? " Stop right there. Were you the one that did this? "

Miyun was on the ground when Jade came, having collapsed from all the struggling she'd done before. And she hated being questioned like this, what had she done wrong? "He wanted to research me." She didn't look at him when she said this, keeping her crimson eyes on the ground. "I gave him no permission to do so. He deserved it, that's for sure." There was no just behind kidnapping someone to research them, it was completely unjust and pissed her right the hell off. She would have done the same if it was someone else who was kidnapped as well. "What, are you going to turn me in for teaching him a lesson?" The blond asked, finally turning to him.

It was not looking good for her, as she was conflicted between some thoughts. Replication, the loud noise, and the possibility of her secret being discovered. She decided to make a quick detour home. Her room mate was there, sleeping. In her arms was a Teddy bear and on her bed were a few more. Her room mate was obviously childish. But so damn cute... It would be hard to sneak by her without waking her, especially getting her bow out of storage. It wasn't a compact, but it wasn't the biggest either. It hung around her neck a moment as she got her quiver, and attached it to her belt, only to put the bow on a belt across her chest, making her Mage robe look silly now.
"Alright... Now those papers."
After a moment, she arrived at the classified documents vault. Making a request to the doorman by saying she was here to do a pickup, and verifying her credentials, she entered. The vault was stocked, so she was escorted to hers to prevent her from stealing. Once it was in hand, she returned to the gate. She found a bad situation waiting.
"Um... Sir, Jade? I have your papers, what has happened here?"

Jade stared at the girl; she did have wings as she said, and this city is well known for its inquiring scientists. If one had seen her wings, the scientist would have lost it on her. However... " I understand. But I doubt that the situation you encountered made a spell like the one you casted necessary, " he explained, looking critical of her decision, " The spell created a crater in the ground, " he emphasized, " If a spell at that level went out of control it very well could've enveloped and destroyed this city. " He was about to decide how to deal with her, when the lady from earlier appeared. " Ah, I almost thought you would never come, " he joked, and looked the papers over; he grinned widely with approval, " This is what I was looking for! Thank you for your help, " his eyes flashing with excitement. Whenever Jade was presented with information, he got all enthusiastic. When she asked what happened, " That winged girl was the one that cast the spell.. " He said, as if it was no longer a big deal.

"I'm fully aware of what it could have done. And at that moment, I didn't care. It was just the spell that came to mind." Miyun scowled. She wasn't usually in such a sour mood, but she was almost just kidnapped, and this man was going on about how she shouldn't have used the spell, and that she could've destroyed the whole city. Yes, she could have used a lighter one, like ray-- but what was done was done. She couldn't go about changing it now. "At least I didn't kill the man. I could have.. I really hate researchers." Because they killed her father. His body accepted the angelic blood that was transfused with him, but eventually, he couldn't handle it any longer. The damned humans should have expected as much. Why did they have to get crazy about everything that was different? What... is it a crime that I stopped him? The same thing would have happened all over again. I'd die just like my father. It'd be a bit of a different situation, but the turn out would definitely be the same.

"Alright." Arceia bowed and greeted the newcomer. "Welcome to Aspio, though I apologize you were brought her by force, miss. I assure you, not everyone here is like that." With a slight hint of embarrassment, she remembered she had brought her bow for self defense, and kept herself in a more casual stance so as to not start a problem. This would only be a worse situation if a fight broke out.
"I understand you were upset, miss, but please try to avoid such powerful magic next time? I as well as many others do live here." She asked this with only her room mate in mind, actually. She hadn't really met nor cared to meet any other students here. As a medical student, she was only here to find one cure, and then return home.
Home... In another world, not part of this weird world connection yet.
"Sir Jade, I trust everything is there? I was rushed in and out of the vault, so I didn't get time to see if it was all there."
