It was exceptionally easy to make it to Capua Nor, given that one of his 'enemies' had blocked the attack made against him. He didn't come out unscathed, though. no... he'd gotten hit, but only slightly so. A small cut along his side, so while he was injured, it was simply a scratch.
He'd live. Easily.
He may not know much about himself, or this world he was in, or even where he was truly from. He just knew that his name was 'Alex', and he was on a planet called 'Terca Lumereis'. That's what Skade had told him, and so far Skade had proven that he would be willing to help fill in the gaps, albeit being ruthless andpossibly insane. The man had issues, and he knew not to cross him. That was that.
In Zaphias, he'd been told to kill Flynn, and probably would have been able to if not for the interception. Alex knew enough that he had skills and abilities unnatural to this world, but the soldier protecting the Empire's Commandant had almost the same kind of foreign abilities, despite the obvious difference in weapon. And while he would have loved to finish the battle and get his target, it just took far too long, and reinforcements had arrived before he could do anything about it. He'd have been stuck on the defensive forever. So while he doubted Skade would be pleased, he'd had no choice but to retreat. He wasn't built for long battles, of that he knew.
So now, he'd moved on to his next target: Capua Nor.
The Commandant's group didn't know where Skade was hiding out. He knew and understood this, and Skade would promptly be able to deter them even if they did learn. Alex's job, however, was to ensure that they had a zero percent chance of getting there, should they somehow discover Skade's location.
Sitting atop the blastia on Capua Nor, Alex watched the inhabitants, glazed, golden eyes watching the activity. Sure, people were watching and staring in confusion, but he didn't care. They couldn't do anything, and they probably thought he couldn't hear them with the way no one was attempting to call him down. He could see the Knights standing guard, probably expecting him to fall or something.
"We should probably get him down... "
"And how, pray tell, do you expect us to do that?"
"Well, eh got up there somehow! So we must be able to get him down before he kills himself!"
They should be more worried if I don't fall... he thought with mild amusement, rolling his eyes. They were amusing at best. Skade wasn't kidding; humans were entertaining. He almost wanted to fall, if only to see their reactions. Thankfully his head was covered by his hood and he had pulled up his scarf to further conceal his face. And with any luck, so were his clothes. Not that it mattered, seeing as how he learned much earlier that he could change them at will.
"Such a shame... and he's so young, too... "
"How did he even get up there?
It was time to get to work, though.
Alex stood and gathered the air around him, consequently created an abnormal breeze in the area around him. Without a second thought he allowed himself to fall, listening with little concern as the people below shouted out their surprise, listened as some nearby mages seemed prepared to cast whatever spell they could to break his fall.
Too bad.
Right before it seemed too late he grasped control over his own fall, flipping and landing nimbly on his feet on the ground, kneeling, hands on the ground. His hands were thankfully concealed, allowing him to summon his sword into his hand as he slowly stood, golden eyes surveying the humans around him.
"Hey, hey... something's not right here... "
"Gee, genius, what gave that away?"
He didn't allow them anymore time to talk, keeping his cloak and hood on him magically to risk exposure, not wanting to get reported back to the Commandant's group so early. Summoning up all the spells at his command, he took aim and first dispatched the Knights with his wind blades. Next he ran up and took out the mages, taking care to use the blunt side of his sword to knock them out. Blood, he'd learned, made him uneasy; and no matter how hard he tried, he just couldn't bring himself to kill another human being. Whether it was something ingrained into his being or he was just being soft, he couldn't tell, but it didn't hinder him in his attacks yet.
With the civilians scared off and Knights in the immediate area taken care of he turned his attention to the docks, dashing towards them and hopping up against into the air. His body crackled with lightning as he rose up, calculating the number of ships and docks, estimating how much power it would take to eliminate them all. Four docks, with two ships at each. It would take a lot, but it could be done.
Alex looked around him, making sure there were no immediate threats, setting up a barrier around the area to prevent any surprise attacks. Next he focused on his spells. Four glyphs of huge proportions were formed beneath each dock, requiring all of his concentration as the clouds overhead darkened and rumbled, lightning sparking off every so often. After gathering the right amount of energy with great difficulty, he let loose and unleashed the spells, watching as pillars of light shot up and lightning snapped down in great bursts, essentially destroying the docks and the ships.
That should hinder them for a while, he thought, a weak smile playing on his face before it vanished abruptly and he groaned, a wave of dizziness attacking him. He'd need to find somewhere to rest, having pretty much used up most of his energy. Any more, and he might—
Something suddenly ripped through him, sucking the air from his lungs and causing him to lose control over his powers. He fell to the ground, having enough sense to at the last second to create a cushion for his fall lest he risk death. It was by no means an easy fall, of course, and he was sure he would be hurting for at least a few days, but he was out of any immediate danger.
"D-Did we get him?"
"Looks like it... "
"What is he?"
He couldn't breathe... not properly, anyway, and his abdomen. Pushing himself up onto all fours was difficult, and the instinctive hand that went to his stomach came with it a slick, wet feeling. Blood, probably, which might explain his worsening dizziness. Dazed, golden eyes flicked up as soon as he registered the sound of metal armour approaching, finding that he was surrounded by Knights. Before he could retaliate something collided with his skull, effectively knocking him out.
It was a long, long while before he woke up again in a cell of sorts. His cloak, scarf, and t-shirt were gone, and his stomach was covered in bandages.
Pointless, really.
Alex sat up weakly, attempting to try and stand. Chains jostling about made him pause and examine his surroundings, realizing that his feet were chained to his bed. The length of the chain looked long enough to allow him to walk around, but he was probably not going very far. Not to mention the bed was embedded into the ground...
He had to roll his eyes: were they serious? After seeing the destruction he did?
It was easy enough to gather the air he needed, focusing on the chains on his feet and prepared to slice them off. At least, that had been the intention before something shocked his system, forcing him to cut off his own powers. That seemed to settle whatever had happened and promptly had him examining his own body. Pants and shoes still there... necklace and collar still attached, wristbands also—
... wait a minute here...
His hand went back to the collar clinging to his neck, beneath the crystal pendant he kept on at all times. He frowned at its unfamiliarity, figuring it as some kind of device the Knights had thought of using.
"I'm surprised we still had those things around."
"It's lucky, if you ask me."
Alex blinked, looking towards the bars on his cell, spotting two Knights with their backs towards him. Golden eyes narrowed: they hadn't noticed him awake yet. Careful not to jostle around the chains anymore, he lay back onto the (hard) bed. Gathering intel was alright... he'd need to figure out how to get out, first.
"'the hell is that kid?"
"Who knows. He casts spells like they're nothing. You see those Indignations of his?"
"How could I not?"
Indignation... was that what they called it? He made a mental note to look into that spell, allowing himself to roll onto his back and close his eyes.
"He's still just a kid, though."
"Yeah, a kid that took out the docks. Which this town kind of lives off of."
"Yeah, but... we didn't have to rip a hole through him... it's not like he killed anyone... "
"... You're going soft... "
Indeed they were. The guards went on about something or another, occasionally looking into his cell to see if he'd stirred. Alex made sure to keep perfectly still each time... not that he had much of a choice. His enhanced healing was one of the things he'd taken notice of almost immediately upon arrival into Terca Lumereis, and while his current wound would likely only take a week or two to get over, it didn't stop the pain from hurting any less. And he couldn't exactly heal it, given his current circumstances.
He was essentially stuck now.
I guess I just have to play this out...
